A Small Project

I really didn't like the gold accents in our bathroom and yesterday we got a new faucet and some new drawer knobs. My dad has been visiting and helped put in our new faucet and I love the new look!! It doesn't seem like much, but I think it has improved so much by these little changes!

18 Month Old Brinley!

Well, as crazy as it seems, we have a year and a half old now! Sometimes I feel like I am still a teenager inside and too young to have so many responsibilities, yet my very life is defined by her and providing everything for her. Brinley adds so much life to our lives. Her happy disposition is contagious and she will often find new playmates wherever she goes. Here are somethings you may or may not know about our little Brinley bug:
  • She is 31 inches long
  • Weighs 21 lbs
  • Loves oranges or cuties
  • She is very observant - learned that I always wipe down the shopping cart before we go shopping, and now she does the same to her own shopping cart.
  • She is very caring - Brin has her own baby doll named Baby CeeCee and she will rock it in the rocking chair, swaddle her up with my help and pat her gently on the back. Occasionally she will drop it on the ground, but only when she gets distracted.
  • When I mention bath time, she will start yelling "bath, bath, bath" and run into the bathroom so she can jump in the tub.
  • Probably one of her happiest times of the day is when Daddy comes home. She will hear the door open and close and start jumping up and down screaming "Dads or Daths!!" She also loves to watch him pull into the driveway and walk in the door. They have made a habit to cuddle and watch a little bit of a movie sometime in the evening. Mike LOVES his daddy/daughter cuddle time. He will always try to extend it as much as possible.
  • She is very good at prayer time - well most of the time. Sometimes it is cute to watch her during the prayer, especially if she has a snack. She will have her arms folded while staring at her food, then take a bite and fold her arms back up until the prayer is finished.

Well.. Update I Suppose!

Yes, I have been a slacker lately at blogging. Here are some pictures from Christmas. We had a lovely time at home though all of us were sick.

Here Brinley is opening presents..

Mike more excited than Brinley about the Strawberry Ann doll from great Grandma Duthrie.

Focused on drinking and opening at the same time.. she is also a great multi-tasker while talking on the phone!

And this is another little gift:

We are excited to announce baby Duthrie #2 coming July 15!!! This pregnancy has been a little more nauseous than the last... though I can't complain because last time I didn't have any. I am feeling great for the most part and I am definitely starting to show earlier this time. I had my first appointment this week and Mike and Brinley were able to join me. Brinley didn't particularly enjoy it, but Mike and I were both very excited to see the little duck moving around and the little heartbeat flutter.

I took a few predictor tests online to "guess" the gender. Anyways they are pretty silly, but fun to do. The ring test proved to be confusing to me--it swayed side to side while slightly spinning.. not exactly sure what that is supposed to mean. I took the Old Wives test which said I was having a boy. And then I looked at the lunar Chinese calendar which according to my age and month of conception claimed that I will have a boy. However, I have little faith in that calendar because then Brinley should have been a boy. Maybe it is reverse for me, in that case I will have a girl. I guess I am 1 for boy and 1 for girl!
